Popova, M.D. to study the central mechanisms of behavior and natural adaptations. After one year as a result of the Institute reorganization the Laboratory was transferred to the Institute of Cytology and Genetics, the Siberian Branch of the Academy of Sciences (now Institute of Cytology and Genetics SB RAS). Over the past years the name of the Laboratory has been changed twice. The models and the methods used were also modified and the molecular genetic aspects of research were considerably increased, but the basic direction &#8211; the study of the role of neurotransmitters in the brain regulation of normal and pathological behavior remained unchanged.
