Laboratory of Behavioral Neurogenomics is one of the leading Laboratories investigating the role of brain neurotransmitters systems in the mechanisms of genetic control of normal and pathological behavior. We have successfully engaged in the studying of the cross relation between brain neurotransmitters systems and brain neurotrophic factors in the regulation of behavior as well as in the searching of the pathways for modulation of genetically determined pathological behavior. During the last five years the employees of the Department have published more than 70 papers in peer-reviewed journals. Five diplomas, two Master’s theses, eight Ph.D. theses and one doctoral dissertation were successfully defended during this period on the base of our Laboratory. Department of Behavioral Neurogenomics is collaborating with domestic and foreign research centers, such as the Institute of Cellular Neurophysiology (Hannover, Germany), Institute of Biomedical Problems, RAS, Center “Bioengineering” of RAS, Institute of Organic Chemistry, SD RAS, etc.

If you are interested in the performing of Bachelor’s, Master’s or Ph.D theses in the field of behavioral neurogenomics on the base of our Laboratory we could provide a choice of several topics related to the study of the mechanisms regulating the function and functional interactions of different serotonin receptors, the role of neurotrophins in the brain of different kinds of behavior, as well as modulation of neurotrophic factors in a model of Parkinson’s disease.
